Brainwave Entrainment

Brainwave Entrainment is probably the most important technological development for personal development in the last 30 years. In the early 1990s, a team of trained psychologists made an amazing discovery; they found that sound waves, all by themselves, could improve your brain’s ability to think, learn, create, and solve problems.

When using brainwave entrainment, you are exposed to a periodically repeating pulse of sound or light. The purpose of this is to cause the frequency of your brainwaves to match the frequency of the pulse. This works thanks to a natural phenomenon of the brain called the 'frequency following response'.

Brainwave entrainment is useful because specific mental states are associated with the production of specific brainwave frequencies. By listening to particular frequencies you can access specific states of mind more easily. Let’s say you’ve been feeling pretty stressed lately and so want to access a really deep, relaxed state of mind. Well this is relatively easy with brainwave entrainment, all it takes is an audio track of the right frequency and in about 5 minutes you will be feeling very relaxed.

Compare this to using meditation which many people use to achieve the same sorts of deep relaxed states of mind, but takes much longer to learn. To be able to reach this kind of mental state within 5 minutes of starting would require at the very least months and months of daily practice.

Brainwave entrainment is not just useful for achieving deep, relaxed, meditative type states. You can easily get yourself into almost any mental state imaginable, from being highly focused, to motivated and energised, to a free flowing creativity, right through to fast asleep!
