The Subconscious Mind - Your Inner Genius

Our subconscious mind holds much greater power than what most people have ever realized or utilized. Within each of us lies an expert mathematician, physicist, biologist, chemist, doctor, and many more all rolled up into one. If this sounds a little (or even a lot) unbelievable, have a think about the following questions:

• How much water do you lose through perspiration after 15 minutes of strenuous exercise? And how much would you need to drink to replenish your body’s supply?
• What nutrients in the food you ate today are good for your body and what are not? And how much of these good nutrients should be absorbed and how much excess need to be eliminated?

Unless you are a scientist or have recently been reading some research papers on these topics, you probably think you have no clue what the answers are. But, guess what, your wrong! Your body or rather your subconscious mind already knows the answer. In fact, it has been able to calculate the answers to these questions since the moment you were born.

If you actually sit down and try to work out the answers to these questions (even if you are a scientist) you will find it is no easy task. All sorts of complex chemical reactions are taking place, with a huge number of individual factors (your weights, metabolic rate, surface area of your skin, etc) need to be taken into account. And yet your subconscious mind can take in all this data, analyse it and provide your conscious mind with actions it needs to take, and all of this happens automatically.

However there is a problem here, for most of us, our conscious mind has got very good at ignoring the messages coming from our subconscious, in fact most of the time we aren’t even aware that we are ignoring any messages. The fact is, people are so caught up in the activities, and actions of their daily lives, being bombarded with an avalanche of information during every waking hour, that they spend large periods of their time basically functioning on autopilot.

If you doubt this is true, just think back over the last week or so and ask yourself if you had any of these thoughts: ‘What was I just doing, before I answered my phone?’, ‘Who was that person I was just talking to?’, ‘Where did I put that (x), I had it 2 minutes ago’.

Any of those sound familiar?

In the rush to get things accomplished, to tick off items from our ‘to do’ list we all too often forget to be conscious of our own lives. We find ourselves not being aware of what we did just a minute ago, or not noticing a lot of things around us.

And the research backs this idea up; the average human thinks approximately 60,000 thoughts per day, but most people are only aware of less than 5 percent of their thoughts.

Just imagine what understandings, what key insights, we are missing out on by closing the door to our subconscious mind. Our subconscious is continually processing information at tens even hundred of thousands of times the rate our conscious mind is ever capable of.

All we need to do is give it the opportunity to connect with the conscious part of our mind, and so many new abilities, solutions to so many problems, answers to so many questions become available to us.

There are many ways we can help our conscious and subconscious mind’s to synchronise together, two of the best are through the image streaming technique, and by using brainwave entrainment.
